Windex's partnership with Plastic Bank also supports recycling efforts in developing countries, promoting infrastructure to collect and recycle plastic waste that would otherwise end up polluting the environment. This ethically recovered material, known as Social Plastic, is then used to manufacture new products, helping to fight poverty.

Through this initiative, residents in developing communities can collect and exchange plastic for digital tokens, which they can then use to access necessities, healthcare, education, and more, reducing the risk of loss or theft.
